Happy Happy Birthday

Today is my James's Birthday. You are totally awesome and I love you to the ends of the universe and back. I hope you have a fantastic Birthday. I hope you know how special you are !!!!!!!
I have my air conditioner on today for the first time in about 4 days. It was 89 today. It will be 93 tomorrow, and 100 Thursday and Friday. At least we had a few days of relief.
About a month ago I planted some palms where I had taken out the avocados, grapefruit, and peach trees. I hadn't paid much attention when I planted them about what size they would be. I was reading the tag Sunday and it said they would be over 12 feet tall. I paniced and told Rick to dig them up, because when they mature I would have to pay someone to trim them. He took them out and gave them to his friend. I went to home depot and bought some palm plants that only get 8 feet high. I planted them this morning. Lifting them and the big bag of potting soil made my heart go into fibulation, so I didn't do much else today, but at least I got them all planted. I wanted to go to macys, but will go another day.
Briana, I heard on tv that you might be hit with the hurricane. I certainly hope not. Be safe okay?
Garrett had his Doctor appointment today. He isn't home yet so don't know how he fared. His stomach problems have been worse lately. It turns him into a cranky guy !!!!!!!
I love you all family. Be safe and well. Grams

ANTS !!!! YIPES !!!!!!

Iwoke up this morning to ants in my kitchen !!!! I hate those little buggers. I fought them for about an hour. They had come in through the kitchen window. I killed the ones inside with windex, and the ones outside with bug spray. Here is a little tip. Black counter tops are beautiful, but it is very hard to see black ants crawling on them. The heat is what is driving them inside to look for food and water. It was much cooler today, only 92 degrees. Garrett went to the dentist today. he only had one cavity. They filled it and gave him a cleaning. He was very happy with that result. That is all that barney and I have for now. Love to all, Grams

IT IS SMOKING IN CALIFORNIA !!!!!!!!!

It was 105 degrees today and is going to be 107 tomorrow. It is like walking into a blast furnace. Lucky for us there is no humidity. It is just bone dry. Yuck !!!! I finally got an appointment next Thursday for my finger. I can't straighten it. I have "trigger finger. It is the one next to my thumb, and It is extremely sore. I have already had it in both thumbs and one middle finger. They have to cut it and go in and release the tendon. It is caused by years of typing on the computer at the telephone company. In my settlement with workers compensation I got free medical care for life on my hands, so it doesn't cost me anything. Chris and Terry went to Korea to see her relative who has terminal cancer. They are going to China and Japan before coming home. That is all I have to say for this day. Love to all, Grams

Sunday, August 22, 2010

I went to church this morning, afterward I stopped and got pizza as I didn't have any desire to cook. I came home and finished the wash. That was about it. Later I went into fibulation so when that happens I just take it easy. it is supposed to be 107 degrees tomorrow and humid. I am not leaving the house !!!!!! We rarly have humidity so when we do it kills us. It is going to be that way all week. I love you all, Grams

IT'S MONDAY!!!!!!
I went for my blood test today. It was 3.0. They were happy with that. It had been a lot thinner and they were trying to get my numbers down. They don't want it any thinner then 3.0
I went to sprouts for produce on the way home. They have the sweetest cantaloupe for 49 cents apiece. I got a watermelon 4 lbs for $1.oo. Broccoli crowns were 49 cents a lb. so I got some of those too. I roasted chicken tenders and made chicken salad for sandwiches. Garrett will probably turn his nose up, but my sandwich was really good with lettuce and tomatoes from my garden. I did a big wash and then got rid of all my acumulated magazines and catalogs. I also filed all my receipts that had piled up. I have to start getting estimates for getting my house painted on the outside after they put in my doors and windows. About an hour ago my heart decided to fibulate so am finished for the day. Barney and I are just going to watch the news.
It was 100 degrees here today. HOT!!!! lOVE TO ALL GRAMS

Sis, Can I take it from your blog that you want Garrett back? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!
You will be pleased to know that today he made a dental and medical appointment. I think his teeth are getting bad.
I have a hair appointment tomorrow. I always wait until my roots are very obvious. I just hate sitting still for that long.
My walking friend just called to tell me she is home from Italy. She was gone for a month. Her Mom is doing pretty good. She is 92 and lives with my friends sister. She also has a son and another daughter living near by. I will go visit in a couple of days when she is rested up from her trip. She had a lay over in atlanta foe 3 hours, so she is exhausted.
Rick put that film on my kitchen window that keeps the heat and uv rays out. He did an okay job, but you know how particular I am. You would have been proud of me though, because I didn't let it show. Needless to say, Mister Barney has been VERY UPSET all day, because he couldn't go in his window.
okay people that is it for now, I love you all, Grams

Sis I got the e-mail, Thanks
A JOKE!!

after being married for 44 years,I took a careful look at my wife one day and said, "honey, 44 years ago we had a cheap apartment, a cheap car, slept on a sofabed and watched a 10-in black and white tv, but I got to sleep every night with a hot 25 year old gal.
Now I have a $500,000.00 home. A $45,000.00 car, nice big bed,and plasma tv, but i'm sleeping with a 65 year old woman. It seems to me that you'er not holding up your side of things."
My wife is a very reasonable woman. She told me to go out and find a hot 25-year old-gal, ans she would make sure that I would once again be living in a cheap apartment, driving a cheap car, sleeping on a sofa bed and watching a 10-inch black and white tv.
aren't older women great? they really know how to solve your mid-life crisis!!

love to all grams

It was a beautiful day. I deadheaded all my roses, trimmed around all the sprinklers, and did some weeding. I then went to target and got a few things. Garrett left and went to his classes for passing the state test I think. He mumbles, especially in the mornings so it is hard to understand him sometimes. When he came home he brought me a chicken salad from Mc Donalds. How sweet huh? He would NEVER admit it, but I know he loves me. When he wants to insult me, he calls me James. I don't have the heart to tell him that I feel honored to be compared to my sweet, kind, lovable, James. I have all the doors open and there is a cool breeze blowing through.
I have to get up and go do a little ironing so will say goodby for now. Love to all, Grams

It has been a beautiful day today. Cooler then the last two days, only about 85 degrees. I am loving our cooler summer this year. I should be careful what I say, as next week could be over 100. Garrett went to the Orange county fair yesterday after work with people from work. They competed in an eating contest. His stomach didn't feel so good when he got home. He went to bed pretty early.
Jackson, Grams is real proud of you for getting such a good report from the Doctor. You are a lean, mean, fighting machine!!!!!!! You will have to be when your sister gets a little bigger.
Sis maybe you should lay off the job interviews for a while huh?
That is it for now family, Love to you all, Grams

spam waffles?

I had forgotten that I used to make those. All three of you, and your dad loved spam. Some people hate it. I am sorry you had a bad migraine. Since Christina just had one, maybe there is something in the air in Hawaii.
Those pictures of Kaya napping are just precious. I think she got a bit of her Mom's temper and stubbornness huh? paybacks are a bitch!!!!! don't you think so Briana? The problem is that she takes it out on Kory.
I went for my blood test this morning. They called and said it is too thin. I have to start taking less medication on Mondays, and go for another test in two weeks. I was on my butt most of the day from fibulating. Lately when I am fibulating I get so hot and just sweat and sweat. I am going to have to go find out why. It is like when I used to have hot flashes in my fifthties. I can have the air conditioner full blast and it does not help at all.
I made lasagna and garlic bread for dinner. They probably won't eat it, but I don't care I get tired of trying to make something they will eat.
Love to all. Grams

Sunday, August 1, 2010

I went to church this morning. A few people were missing, probably on vacation.
Rick's job lasted 3 days. I would be surprised if it were anyone else, but for him it isn't unusual at all. My peaches and nectarines are all gone now. I have had three or four people tell me that those are the best nectarines they ever ate. I admit they are extremely good and very large.
Garrett went to his dad's Saturday, and then to his uncle John's yesterday. It was a Kaya bonding weekend. I made scrambled eggs and pancakes for dinner. I didn't eat them, but Garrett and Rick did. I have never liked pancakes. My husband could never understand how anyone could not like pancakes or waffles. They don't make sense to me, by the time you get the syrup on them they are a cold, soggy, gooey, mess.
Okay people that is all that is on my tiny little mind for now. Love you all, Grams
